School publishes pupil-penned page-turner!

The latest edition of The Kwyll is available to read nowThe works of talented wordsmiths at the High School of Dundee have been brought together to form a page-turner of a compendium!

The latest edition of The Kwyll, the English department’s collection of some of the best creative writing pieces produced by pupils in class and at home in the past year, is out now.

Packed with compositions from across F1-F6, including a number which were competition winning, the publication covers a diverse range of subjects which provide an insight into the themes and issues which inspired the young writers.

Teacher of English, Morven Ovenstone-Jones, who edited the collection, says, “This year our pupils have explored war and brutality, the natural world, and human experience. The collated pieces are varied in style and genre, but each one tackles the larger issues affecting society and individuals, revealing the human capacity for suffering and endurance.

“As a department, we continue to promote writing in all its forms and encourage all of our pupils to submit work for consideration in future editions of Kwyll."
