Visiting the School

High School of Dundee exteriorYou are strongly encouraged to visit the School before deciding whether or not we will provide a suitable environment for your child.

You may choose to visit the School during our annual Open Morning, or arrange an individual tour for you and your family during a normal school day.  Each offers a slightly different perspective on life at the High School.
Details on visiting the Nursery can be found here.

Open Morning

Open Morning takes place towards the end of September, with our 2017 event having taken place on Saturday 30th September (For details of our Nursery Open Mornings, please click here.) As this is typically a busy event, preregistration is advised and can be done here. If you haven't preregistered, please allow time to register before the morning begins at 9am with a welcome from the Rector.  Following a brief overview of the School, your family will be paired up with one of our pupils, who will take you on a tour of the classrooms, with plenty of opportunity to talk to staff and question your guide about their experiences of day-to-day life in the School.  Open Morning 2014After the tour, staff are on hand to answer any remaining questions that you may have about everything from Bursaries or pastoral care to the admissions process.  You should allow around three hours for your visit to Open Morning.  Car parking is available in the School playground on the day and a crèche operates too.

Individual tours

Individual tours can be arranged for your family at most times during term-time. (For information regarding Nursery tours, please click here). A member of staff will accompany you on a tour of classrooms and key departments, and answer any questions that you may have. Although there are fewer opportunities to talk directly to pupils and teaching staff during a tour, it will allow you to build a picture of our normal working day, and witness first-hand the interaction between teachers and pupils.
