London Insight 2011

P1020559On the Wednesday before the October half term, 14 F4 and F5 Economics pupils and 2 staff boarded the morning train for London.  The trip’s aim was to introduce the group to London life and some of the institutions based there, either in connection with UK Economic policy making or future career possibilities.

It was a packed three days with a wide range of visits.  Highlights included a tour of the House of Commons, thanks to Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie, top table lunch and career talk at Middle Temple, an interactive look at the workings of Wood Lane’s BBC and the exciting world of Bloomberg, with their inspiring coloured floors, vast fish tanks, international career options and free food!

Pupils returned to Dundee late on Friday ready for a good rest over half term.  The best experience differed for each person but it had certainly opened everyone’s eyes to the excitement, opportunities and exhaustion that London offers.
