School trips

Ski tripSchool trips are an opportunity to keep the learning process fresh, exciting and relevant for all our pupils.

Concepts that have been explained and explored within the classroom environment take on new meaning and interest when pupils come face-to-face with them outside the classroom, and trips are designed to keep pupils motivated and engaged throughout the learning process.

Regular trips include school exchange programmes with the Modern Languages department; Geography trips visiting anywhere from the Yorkshire Dales to Iceland; Classics trips to Italy; and History trips to Berlin.  Art pupils may find themselves visiting theatres and art galleries in London, while music pupils may have an opportunity to play in venues across Europe.

Shorter trips are also a key part of our curriculum, including visits to local companies for Business Management pupils, or theatre visits as part of English and Drama.

Trips are also a feature of many co-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, the Combined Cadet Force, Debating, and most sporting activities, as well as those sponsored by academic departments, such as the Top of the Bench competition for Chemistry pupils.
