The Modern Studies Department offers the following courses:
Modern Studies is the study of how people live in society and is extremely important in developing our pupils' understanding of the past, present and future and all that goes on around them. This subject is a popular choice amongst senior pupils in the school, and this year we are very excited to be offering Modern Studies to pupils in Form 3 for the first time. Modern Studies will help pupils to gain an understanding of domestic and world events.
The value of the subject beyond school can be immeasurable. A former pupil now studying law at university was kind enough to offer the following appraisal of her time in the department:

One of my second semester courses has been Public Law of the UK and Scotland! Basically Advanced Higher Modern Studies with some extras! It was so handy to start the course knowing the basics in great detail.
