National final beckons for mathematicians

A team of four pupils has qualified for the National Final of this year's Enterprising Maths competition.

The High School team of Joshua McLaggan and Sophie Kelly (both F3) and Hannah Arnold and Jamie Mather (both F4) came third out of thirty schools in the Independent schools round of the competition.  Held at George Watson's College in Edinburgh, the contest involved five hours of rigorous maths and logic challenges.

The team will travel to the University of Glasgow on 14th November to contest the final, where they will be hoping to retain the trophy for the High School of Dundee for a second year.
