F6 leavers present the cheque to Julie Baird of BarnardosForm 6 pupils have marked the end of their time at school with a presentation to a local children’s charity.

Julie Baird of Barnardos accepted a cheque for £2434.32

The money was raised through various initiatives by Form 6 pupils during the course of the year, including a talent show, the sale of candy canes at Christmas and by selling pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.

The Form 6 pupils raise money through the School’s Interact Club, a Junior branch of the Rotary organization.

Today’s donation brings the total raised this year to £3003.57, with £569.25 donated to the Cash for Kids appeal earlier this year

President of the Interact Club, Bilal Hussain, said: “In total, we have raised almost £2,500 for Barnardos this year.  We are very proud to have been able to support such a worthwhile charity as part of our fundraising efforts over the past twelve months.”
