Pupils help Charlie Bring A Smile for Christmas

Bring A Smile for ChristmasA local initiative to ensure sick and needy children across Tayside receive presents this Christmas received a boost from pupils at the High School of Dundee today.

Members of the School’s Interact Club, the Junior branch of Rotary International, have organised the collection of more than 200 presents from pupils, parents and staff.

The presents were handed over to Charlie Kean of the Kean’s Children’s Fund on Wednesday, who made the collection in a Santa sleigh accompanied by local children.

President of the Interact Club, Bilal Hussain, said: “We are always eager to support local charities, and the Bring A Smile for Christmas campaign makes a real difference to so many children across Tayside.  We are extremely pleased that the school community has been able to donate so many presents, and we wish Charlie all the best for this year’s campaign.”

In 2009, more than 5000 toys were donated to the campaign, and distributed to children across Tayside.
