Club celebrates start of 25th Anniversary year

Interact March 2010The High School of Dundee’s Interact Club, the Junior arm of Rotary International, has celebrated the start of its 25th anniversary year by welcoming some very special guests.

David Fowler, President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland, visited the School today to watch a presentation on the Club’s fundraising activities.  The Club’s current committee of Form 6 pupils Joanne Mulford, Howell Craske and Victoria Nicholson were joined for the event by immediate past President and Vice-President Sabraj Gill and Rachael Jones, who left the High School last summer.

Also at the event were pupils and staff from the Morgan Academy Interact Club, which is in the process of setting up.

Lise Hudson, Head of Guidance at the High School, oversees the Interact Club.  “Interact offers pupils the chance to develop a much greater sense of responsibility, while developing skills in management, organization and communication, and our pupils have gained an enormous amount from the Club over the past 25 years.  I hope that the team from Morgan Academy have found today helpful, and we wish them every success in creating their own branch of Interact.”

Following the presentation, the guests joined the School’s Interact members for a buffet lunch, and an opportunity to discuss their experiences.
