In early March, 8 committee members travelled to London to attend the Ladies London Lunch at the East India Club in St James. 46 guests attended the lunch and we were delighted to welcome the Rector Dr Halliday and Deputy Rector Mrs Hudson who travelled south on the morning of the lunch to join us. The newest member of the Old Girls’ Club, and former Head Girl, Lauren Pringle was our Guest Speaker and gave a fascinating talk about her time as President of the Oxford Union, which gave us all an insight into how the Oxford Union functions.
Those who travelled south certainly made the most of their time in the capital with trips to Midnight Tango for some and Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall for others and visits to both the Manet and Valentino exhibitions. Some even made it to Westminster Abbey for the Matins service on the Sunday morning.
The next High School of Dundee London Ladies Lunch will take place in March 2015.
