How to apply
To apply for a place, you should complete the application form in full and send it, together with the registration fee, to the Admissions Co-ordinator, High School of Dundee, Euclid Crescent, Dundee DD1 1HU. The registration fee helps to cover the cost of processing your application, including administering and marking the assessment. If the fee is not received, your application will not be processed and will be returned to you.
Application forms can be downloaded below, or are available on request from the Admissions Office. Applications cannot be made electronically, as a signature is required. Please note that an application must be received before your child can be added to our lists for any place.
Timescales for application for entry in August run as follows:
- First Saturday in November – Open Morning. Registration from 8.45am for a 9am start.
- December (last day of term) – Advised deadline for applications for entry to L1.
- January (day before Assessments for L2-F1) – Advised deadline for applications for entry. Applications for bursary support must also be received by this date.
- Last Friday in January – Assessments for L2 – F1.
- Late January / early February – Assessments for L1 and F2.
- Late February / early March – Decisions issued to applicants.
- Late May / early June – Information Evening for parents of pupils in the Senior School, and Induction Days for new pupils.
- Late August – Session commences.
We will accept applications at any time of year, but please note that assessments cannot be carried out during the holidays, apart from one date each August shortly before the start of the new academic year. As some stages have been oversubscribed in recent years, we would in any case recommend that you apply as early as possible.
Where a year group is oversubscribed, we will in the first instance consider only those applications that have been received by the last day of the winter term. Later applications will only be considered if spaces remain after this process has been completed.
